Fine recordings of ragtime, vintage jazz, and dance bands

I greatly enjoyed these "recreated" songs originally performed by college groups in the 20s.

I especially like "In the dim, dim dawning" but all the selections are great!

This is one of the albums you need to have if you are a ragtime lover and collector! A great idea to republish a classic album, sold out a long time ago, and then to expand it with another bunch of contemporaries - some of them by Davidson himself!
(Off topic - just a commentary and a plea: I would really appreciate it if the two Ragtime Wizardry albums were available as mp3 downloads. Importing physical cd's to Denmark is not an option because of a criminally high processing fee from the post agency collecting VAT and taxes.)

Musical selections are interesting, performances are great, quality of the vinyl pressing is impressive. What's not to like? Great record!

Not only does the music sound fantastic - the pressing is dead quiet. It is also amazing that it is a NEW 78 rpm record which perfectly fits the style of Vince's music.

Nice and relaxing music to listen to.

The music is very nice and well played on all titles of these 12 inch 78 rpm records, but the most impressive is the quality of the sound. On top of of excellent recording, the 78 rpm reproduction and pressing exceeds to my ears the audiophile 33 and 45 rpm records currently available. It is not easy to find today high quality turntables that play in 78 rpm, but if you have one it is worth buying these unique records.

Enjoy these records very much. Great music and talent from the artists. The pressings seem to be just fine. Fast shipping was nice also.

It's nice to hear some good music from not too long ago, and you certainly have a good deal to share.

These records hold an interesting place in available material. A mixture of styles and instruments of the early 20th century, in the format of their time, but not bound by the fidelity limits of their era. Using the full bandwidth that modern disc recording is capable of, we are presented with audiophile quality sound at 78 RPM.
For those that appreciate such things, all these releases are sort of a way to “have your cake and eat it too”!

This is a fun packed album with tuneful songs which reminded me of the background music used in the Laurel
and Hardy movies.

Terrific performances here - and this Coon-Sanders fan am delighted that seven of the tracks are tunes the Nighthawks recorded. The musicians are all top-flight Chicago jazz legends, and never disappoint. Highly recommended!

A great reproduction of recordings from another time. I would love to hear more of such recordings.
